Welcome to Don’t Tone Alone’s Paired Exercise Training Guide©. The purpose of this
manual is to show you various exercises that can be done when exercising in pairs.
Don’t Tone AloneTM C.I.C. has extensive experience working with carers, older adults,
people with long-term conditions and disabled people and has developed this training
manual to further benefit these client groups. This book has been specifically designed
with carers in mind to improve physical and mental health and well-being. This is because
the caring role is complex and encounters all manners of health difficulties. This is not
only physical and mental but also social as relationships are often transformed overnight,
changing family dynamics of responsibility and the way each day is approached.
This manual will hopefully inspire, motivate and provide some practical ideas to incorporate
exercise into daily lives. The most important lesson to take from this book is that exercise
is fun and is used by so many positive reasons. Exercise needn’t be a laborious task, which
is so often what’s called to mind when the word ‘exercise’ is used.
